04 Oct COORDINATION VISIT TO İSTANBUL

Prior to the artist-in-residence program in İstanbul, a visit to İstanbul was paid to the city by conducting artist of the program, İnci Eviner, accompanied by Recep Tuna, member of the project team, between October 2 and 4, 2019. The aim of the visit was to determine the possibilities and needs of the upcoming artist-in-residence program.

The portfolios of artists to participate in the İstanbul program were reviewed by Eviner once more in order to determine the content of the program. Artists from İstanbul who would like to participate in the program were discussed. A meeting was held with the Director of İstanbul Biennial (İstanbul Foundation for Arts and Culture), Bige Örer, concerning the visit of the artists to the Biennial. Hasköy Wool Thread Factory to be used as the studio during the artist-in-residence program was visited and meetings were held with the Factory representative. Artisans working around the Factory were visited and informed about the project. They were very excited about the project and showed great interest.
